~ sucha sweet blessing ...

one afternoon a week or so ago i heard this high pitched little noise in our garage. i have heard it before ~ so i knew it was a 'lil hummer. it seems every year one gets stranded in our garage. i know i need to catch the precious little sweetie ~ to get them to some flowers for nourishment. they are soo quick, but seem to know to have me catch them to get them out into God's lovely nature, to replenish their energy. this 'lil one just posed for me ~ i was so grateful & thankful to have been blessed by one of many of His wonderful creations... humble♥

Vikki,

You have such a little cutie in your hand. You are so fortunate to be able to hold him. We had a baby dove in our yard and, although he let us get close, we couldn't pick him up.

Thank you for all of your sweet comments on my blog. They are very appreciated - especially the ones about my dear friend.

Blessings
Elizabeth

Hi Vikki, The little hummingbird reminds me of the one Mom brought back from a sinking spell, that is what she called it. She had read if they don't get their nurishment they do this. She gave it sugar water with an eye drop and it got back flying. Love to watch them.
Hugs,
Bonnie

I can't believe you were able to hold that hummer like that! I love to watch them. We have a lot of them here, although this heat seems to be keeping them away. They certainly are a wonderful creation.

What precious pictures!! Hummingbirds are truly among my favorite creatures in this life! I so look forward to them arriving in spring and dread them leaving in the fall! You were truly blessed by God to be able to hold one of these little dears in your hand! Last year one hit the window outside, a cat instantly grabbed it, I coaxed the cat to hold still for a moment and pried it out of it's mouth. I held it for several minutes, apologizing to it for it's cruel end to this life (it was pretty ruffed up, in shock and looked like it was dying), and thanking him for his joy and beauty brought to me every day. Of course I was in tears. It was breathing heavily with it's eyes closed and I decided to set it on a limb of a tree for it's last few breaths. As my hand slowly went up to the branch...BZZZZZZZZ....off it went about 90 MPH....clear out of sight! Whew! Then my tears were of joy! Again, thanks for the lovely photos!
Hugs, Janice

You picture of the hummingbird brought back such a funny story and memory of my mother. She had just filled a new hummingbird feeder and was tickled when one flew up and drank and drank and drank. But then it fell to the ground. She thought it had died and was so sad and being the believer that she was she prayed for it. She watched and watched and then all of a sudden it got up and flew away. It must have been in a sugar coma as she later found out she had not diluted the mixtuer enough. Thank you for sharing and bringing back my mother's memory to me.
